CREATIVE FLIP LAUNCHES OPEN CALL FOR CULTURAL & CREATIVE ORGANISATIONS AND STRUCTURES
Team up with a local school from your community to help students discover the exciting future possibilities of cultural and creative professions and skills!
Creativity and transversal skills play a crucial role for the future job market and job profiles, nevertheless, the inclusion of these aspects into skills development approaches is still incomplete.
That is why, during the European Year of Youth 2022, Creative FLIP is launching an open call for Cultural and Creative Sector (CCS) organizations and structures interested in establishing cooperation projects with schools, introducing students to creative professions and building ties with their local community. As part of the initiative, students will explore creative and transversal skills through a co-creation project, while also discussing and learning about related topics such as the importance of protecting and respecting intellectual property and creations.
15 Creative Facilitators will be selected to take part in the Learning Labs Program, receiving financial and organizational support to implement their projects.

Due to the high number of applications the selection process is currently ongoing.
Successful applicants will be contacted in the coming days and the list of 15 selected Learning Labs will be published on the website as soon as all participants are confirmed.
WHO is eligible to apply?
Applicants [Creative Facilitators] should be: established structures and organisations of cultural and/or creative activities with legal personality, such as cultural centres, youth centres, theatres, associations, creative hubs, maker spaces and others.
This call for applications is open to Creative Facilitators from the following countries:
EU Member States, United Kingdom, Faroe Islands, Switzerland, North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*[1], Montenegro, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Territory of Ukraine as recognised by international law, Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine[2], Syria; Tunisia.
[1] *This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence

Learning Labs Program will enable students to enlarge their creative and transversal skills through project based work and to get a first-hand impression on different types of work the CCS provides. The program aims to test innovative methods of integrating those skills in formal education.
Further, LLabs aim to draw attention to and create awareness about the importance of IP in the context of creative works and the respect of others’ IP. Why do creations need to be protected and what is the process of IP protection?
Finally, the program will strengthen cross-sectoral cooperation between the CCS and Education, stimulating long term collaboration to the benefit of both parties and making use of existing synergies.

Check out the results of the 2020-2021 pilot projects: During the first pilot round, creative hubs were invited to come up with innovative programs and ideas to be implemented in schools and all levels and forms of education with the aim to transmit a broad range of transversal and creative skills to students.
As a direct result of the 15 pilot LLabs, Creative FLIP issued Guidelines for Creative Partnerships and education through making.
It comprises a series of minimum 10 workshops (90+ minutes each) building on three components:
my CAREER
an introduction to one or various specific creative profession(s)
Creative Facilitators explain and showcase their own profession(s) to participating students during one or more workshops. Activities may include but are not limited to presentations/talks/Q&A held by professionals from the sector, practice sessions during which students get to work alongside creatives in the hubs, visits to ateliers and other creative and cultural work spaces.

Creative Facilitators lead a participatory activity during which students get to work on a specific creative project for their school. Practical examples could be the design of a school logo (Design), a school anthem (Music), a school play (Theatre). The action will be designed by Creative Facilitators in cooperation with school representatives and students
and presented at a final event.
my IDEA
a specific workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
Creative Facilitators will receive a training session and material in order to introduce students to the meaning and importance of IPR in the context my SCHOOL. Through a playful workshop, students will comprehend that others’ IP needs to be respected and how to protect their own creative work, e.g. the process of ensuring copyrights for a school anthem.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Learning Labs should be
– organized in person
– organized as part of regular classes or extra-curricular, but always in close cooperation with a school representative
– organized between September 2022 and May 2023
– implemented over the course of minimum 3 months
Participation in the Learning Labs Program foresees the following benefits:
- Financial support of 7,500 EUR
Full budget for the design and implementation of a Learning Lab (total of 10 or more workshops). This lump sum will be paid in two instalments, based on a cooperation agreement between selected candidates and the Creative FLIP project. The budget should go towards working hours of Creative Facilitators, development and design of learning materials, production costs, venue-related costs (cleaning, electricity, technical equipment, etc.), photo and video documentation of Learning Labs, catering/refreshments for final showcasing event and other relevant costs.
- Train the trainer sessions delivered by Creative FLIP partners to Creative Facilitators, to enable them to transfer knowledge on IPR to the students
- Promotion of your LLab on social media, with the European Commission and other relevant stakeholders
- Becoming part of the Creative FLIP community, networking with other Learning Lab projects across Europe and neighbourhood countries
- Inclusion of best practice cases in a summary report, drafted by Creative FLIP Project
Creative Facilitators are expected to:
- conduct minimum 10 workshops of 90 min each, in line with the requirements stated under “What is a LLab”
- participate in joint meetings of the LLabs network organized by Creative FLIP
- document their Learning Lab in form of videos, photos and social media posts
- organise a final/showcasing event in cooperation with the school
- conduct a brief survey with students at the beginning and the end of the programme (template provided)
- provide participants lists of workshops
- report on their expenses/usage of budget provided
Interested applicants should fill out the online application form presenting their LLab project idea and motivation.

Applications may only be submitted by Creative Facilitators who have a confirmed agreement with a local school, cooperating in the proposed LLab.
Application deadline: 6 June, (23:59h CET)
The evaluation will be based on the proposed program and motivation of the applicant, taking into consideration the diversity of participating Creative Facilitators and geographical balance.

Are Universities and institutes of higher education eligible as Learning Lab partners?
No, the target partners are only primary and secondary schools.
Can I cooperate with other creative professionals/organisations?
Yes. Creative Facilitators are welcome to team up with other local cultural and creative entities to provide a broad spectrum of activities and present diverse professions. But the application should be submitted by one entity who remains the point of contact and signs the cooperation agreement.
Can I cooperate with a school from another region or country?
No, Learning Labs aim to foster local cooperation projects. No long distance travel is foreseen, nor can it be covered by the provided budget.
I am an individual. Can I apply?
No, cooperation agreements cannot be signed with individuals, but with established organisations and structures with legal personality.
I do not have any specific knowledge in IP. Can I apply?
Yes. Our experts will deliver a train-the-trainer module and needed educational material.
Are existing cooperation projects eligible to apply?
Yes, provided they comply with the requirements and overall goals of Learning Labs stated in this call and that they are not already receiving any other financial support for the same activity.
I haven’t found a school to cooperate with. Can I still apply?
No, an agreement between the Creative Facilitator and a school is obligatory. It does not need to have the form of a signed contract. However, the agreement on participation in the Learning Labs has to have been confirmed by the authorized representative of the educational institution (preferably in written format, e.g. email).
