Back to Eco x Sagrat Cor Diputació, Spain
Denim Remix is an interdisciplinary program that introduced 13-year-olds to sustainable fashion through creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration to investigate the issue of textile waste. At the core of their learning experience was the creation of a small accessory from post-consumed jeans, which became their tool for exploring the entire textile production chain—from waste to reinvention. Working in small groups, students engaged in collaborative activities blending design thinking, participatory processes, and co-creation.
Among others they had the chance to get to know the Back to Eco textile project and visited a digital fabrication lab, while they experimented with both traditional and digital fabrication techniques, such as embroidery, laser cutting, and vinyl making. This program invited young minds to rethink fashion and materials through upcycling and sustainability.
| Back to Eco is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that develops and promotes initiatives for a more circular textile industry. Their goal is to extend the life cycle of textiles, encouraging reuse and recycling on a global scale—mirroring the balance of the natural world, where nothing becomes waste, and everything has value. They support individuals, companies, and institutions on the journey toward a fashion industry that benefits the planet. |
