Future of Fashion: Sustainable Textiles

Magbago x Public Institution - Technical School Brčko District, Bosnia and Herzegovina

How can AI and creativity shape the future of sustainable fashion? In Magbago’s Learning Lab, students (aged 17-18) explore the intersection of upcycling, handcrafts, and digital tools.

This innovative LLab introduces students to real-world AI applications, from smart labeling technologies (NFC, RFID, QR codes) to predictive analytics for trend forecasting, personalized customer experiences, and inventory optimization. By understanding these technologies, students gain insight into how AI enhances transparency, supply chain management, and consumer engagement in the fashion industry.

Beyond tech, students get hands-on experience in sustainable design by transforming existing textiles into stylish, eco-friendly pieces. Working with innovative materials like recycled cotton, natural fabrics, and plant-based textiles, they will develop unique fashion items while learning about visual art expressions and Intellectual Property Rights to protect their designs.

The results (upcycled sustainable fashion pieces and design prototypes) will be presented during a showcasing event at the Youth Center in Brčko, proving that sustainability and technology can go hand in hand to create a greener future for fashion.
