Fashion Revolution Polska x Państwowe Szkoły Budownictwa, Poland
How can fashion and construction come together to create a more sustainable future? The LLab, created by Fashion Revolution Polska, showcased the potential of interdisciplinarity in working with waste, encouraging young people to explore innovative methods of material design.
A key element is the educational process, which guided participants through experiments and explorations at the intersection of fashion, technology and sustainability. Through hands-on workshops, students were introduced to innovative solutions, such as using recycled denim for insulation, and explored the potential of Baltic algae.
By developing open-source recipes for creating innovative materials from local waste, this LLab not only engaged but also inspired action beyond the workshop space. Importantly, the Creative Facilitators openly showed both successes and failures—and the lessons learned from them—highlighting the authenticity and educational value of the project.
The LLab culminated in a public exhibition at the Gdynia Design Days in June 2025, where students presented their prototypes, told the story of the process, interdisciplinary explorations, and the role of young creators in redefining the approach to waste. Selected prototypes even had the potential for commercial scalability, opening doors to real-world brand collaborations (in conversation with ELEMENTY).
Furthermore, Fashion Revolution Polska presented a binder of recipes, which served as a tool opening new possibilities for educators and their creative initiatives.
