From 25 – 27 November, the selected Creative Facilitators of this year’s edition of the Creative FLIP Learning Labs on Sustainable Fashion & Textile, coordinated by Goethe-Institut Brussels, gathered at the inspiring halls of Lottozero in Prato, Italy. With its long history in textile and sustainability innovation, Prato provided the perfect backdrop to kick-start the new LLabs round.
Participants engaged in fun ice breaker activities, insightful discussions, and interactive workshops, all aimed at refining their co-creation projects with local schools. Highlights included a guided tour to a local wool recycling centre and hands-on activities in Lottozero’s open FabLab for textile production, experimentation and research.
Furthermore, our Sustainability expert Elena Ianeselli presented educational resources on Fashion History and Sustainability, specifically designed by the project
ReFashionized for trainers and youth educators. The project aims to shape young people’s attitudes and behaviour towards climate change and sustainable fashion consumption models by providing educational resources on sustainable fashion for trainers and learners.
Next to content related to Sustainable Fashion, the selected participants also delved deeper into the intricacies of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) specifically related to the fashion and textile sectors. Under the guidance of our Creative FLIP partners from the Intellectual Property Institute Luxembourg (IPIL), we discussed how to teach students in primary and secondary school about IP and its impact on creatives.
The exchange fostered meaningful connections among the Creative Facilitators, enabling them to share challenges, solutions, and best practices as they prepare the implementation of their Learning Labs between January and July 2025.
This Peer Exchange not only strengthened the Creative FLIP network but also set the stage for innovative co-creation projects that will foster sustainability through creativity in textiles & fashion by bridging the gap between education and sustainable fashion.
A big THANK YOU to the fantastic team of Lottozero for hosting us! It was truly inspiring.
Stay tuned as these Learning Labs come to life and inspire the next generation of creative changemakers!
