Wear the Change: Modular Sweaters and the Puzzle of Infinite Possibilities

Modno kreiranje, Martina Marolt x OŠ Ljubno ob Savinji, Slovenia

During the LLab Wear the Change: Modular Sweaters and the Puzzle of Infinite Possibilities, students dived into the world of fashion by designing their own modular sweaters with detachable, universal sleeves.

Through hands-on workshops, they got creative by designing custom prints, explored garment-making, and discovered how much time and effort went into crafting a piece of clothing. Along the way, students learned about sustainability, pattern design, fashion illustration, and branding, while also discovering the importance of intellectual property. From visiting a sewing studio to hands-on pattern making, students were fully immersed in the process.

The co-creation project resulted in a unique modular sweater for each student, designed and created by them. Each student designed custom prints and collaborate with a sewing studio and pattern maker to bring their individual creations to life. The sweaters featured detachable, universal sleeves, offering a wide range of styling combinations.

At the end of the co-creation project, the students showcased their creations in a final public exhibition at their school in June 2025, where creativity met sustainable fashion. To add an extra layer of fun, students calculated how many combinations their designs created, highlighting the endless possibilities of modular fashion.
